Terms of Use
Last updated May 18, 2026.
These terms describe the deal between Baldwin Citizen (also referred to as "we" or "us") and you, the reader. They apply when you visit baldwincitizen.com or any of its subpages. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What this site is
Baldwin Citizen is an independent local news publication covering Baldwin County, Alabama. We report on local government meetings, public records, and civic affairs. We are not affiliated with the City of Daphne, the City of Fairhope, the City of Spanish Fort, Baldwin County government, or any political campaign or party.
How we report
We report on the public record — agendas, ordinances, minutes, votes, and the documents attached to them. Nothing on this site is published without editorial review. See our editorial standards page for details.
We strive to be accurate. If you spot an error, write to corrections@baldwincitizen.com. We publish corrections at the bottom of the affected article and note the change in writing.
Editorial content and copyright
Original articles, headlines, layout, design, code, and photographs taken by Baldwin Citizen staff on this site are © Baldwin Citizen unless otherwise noted in the photo credit. You may:
- Link to any article using its public URL.
- Quote short excerpts for purposes of commentary, criticism, news reporting, or education, consistent with US fair use (17 USC § 107), with attribution to Baldwin Citizen.
- Share articles on social media using the public URL.
You may not, without our written permission:
- Republish full articles on another website.
- Republish, crop out the watermark on, or otherwise reuse photographs credited “Baldwin Citizen” — on a website, in print, or in any other publication. Staff photography is licensed for use here only.
- Modify articles to misrepresent what we said.
- Scrape the site at high volume or for AI training.
- Strip attribution.
Photographs credited to a city, government agency, or third-party photographer remain the property of that source; we publish them under press-handout / fair-use conventions or the photographer’s license, and our reuse policy does not extend to them. Government documents, agendas, ordinances, photos taken at public meetings, and other public records quoted on this site remain the property of their original creators and are reproduced or summarized here for the purpose of news reporting on public proceedings.
For permission to reuse staff photography, write to hello@baldwincitizen.com.
What we do not provide
Articles on Baldwin Citizen are for general informational purposes. They are not legal, medical, financial, real-estate, or professional advice. If a decision matters to your life or finances, consult a qualified professional, not a local news article.
Accuracy and limitation of liability
We work hard to publish accurate information and to correct mistakes quickly. That said, this site is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or availability of any content on the site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baldwin Citizen and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site — including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, interfere with, or compromise the site or its underlying systems.
- Scrape the site at high volume or for purposes inconsistent with these terms.
- Harass or threaten the editor or any contributor.
- Use any contact channel to send spam, solicitations, or malicious files.
Advertising
We display advertising served by third parties (currently Google AdSense). The ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content and never affect what we report. See our privacy policy for the data practices that come with that.
